Owner and Chef Kate Komaiko has been cooking in restaurants, private kitchens, and catering events since 2003. She obtained the Skills Competency Award in Personal Chef Training while attending the School of Culinary Arts at Santa Barbara City College. While always drawn towards training in natural food oriented establishments such as Sojourner and the Natural Cafe, the concept of Earthen Catering came from the desire to only use the best ingredients. A fusion of wholesome simplicity and developed technique led to a refined natural method of preparation that defines Earthen.
